Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Russologica is a scholarly journal whose primary aim is to disseminate the results of research in literary studies, linguistics, Russian language didactics (linguodidactics), and translation studies. The journal publishes contributions characterized by thematic diversity, interdisciplinarity, and a wide range of methodological approaches to the issues under investigation.

The published articles provide insight into significant, and at times insufficiently explored, phenomena of Russian literature and the Russian language, as well as various aspects of teaching Russian as a foreign language at both the school and university levels.

Published annually by the Institute of Modern Languages, Department of Russian Philology, the University of the Commission of National Education in Kraków, the journal is dedicated to current research in the fields of Russian literature, East Slavic linguistics, Russian language didactics (linguodidactics), and translation studies.

Peer Review Process

Manuscript Submission and Review Policy

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial assessment by the Editorial Board to determine its relevance to the scope and profile of the journal.

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial assessment are submitted for evaluation by two independent reviewers who are not affiliated with the Commission of National Education University, Kraków.

As a rule, reviewers are selected from institutions other than that of the author.

The journal operates a double-anonymous peer review process. The Editorial Board does not disclose the identities of the reviewers to the author, and reviewers are not informed of the author's identity.

Reviews are prepared in written narrative form rather than by means of a standardized evaluation form.

Each review must include a clear recommendation, either:

  • acceptance of the manuscript for publication (with or without required revisions), or
  • rejection of the manuscript.

After receiving the reviewers' reports, the Editorial Board forwards them to the author and, where appropriate, requests a response to the reviewers' comments and the submission of a revised version of the manuscript.

In the event of conflicting recommendations, the Editorial Board may appoint an additional reviewer or make a collegial decision regarding the further editorial handling of the manuscript.

A collective list of reviewers who have cooperated with the journal (without indicating which manuscripts they reviewed) is published in each annual volume.

Before publication, the author signs a publishing agreement with the Academic Publishing House, the publisher of the journal, confirming that the submitted manuscript is an original work, has not infringed the copyright or other rights of third parties, and may be legally published.

Open Access Policy

The journal provides immediate open access to all of its content under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) licence.

All articles published in Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Russologica are freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) licence.
