This article offers a critical examination of the prevailing perspectives on the sources and nature of knowledge regarding the medicinal properties of herbs within the Eastern Slavic tradition. Drawing upon the insights of historians, ethnographers, herbalism experts, and travelers, the author navigates the complexities of folk medicine.
